2016 Feast of Nativity (Monti Fest) –  SKA’ s Celebrations

The traditional Nativity celebrations will be held on 11 September 2016 at the All Saints Church Hall, Waltham Drive, Queensbury HA8 5PQ.The Nativity Mass will be at 1.30 pm followed by traditional lunch. Members and their guests are warmly invited to these celebrations to keep up the traditional spirit of the feast of Nativity (Monti Fest). Children will be able to participate by throwing flowers to the music and hymns by adults. The blessing of the new corn and the offering of garden produce will be the key feature of this annual event. 

SKA LONDON is the pioneer in introducing the concept of the ‘Monti Fest’ in UK many years ago and long standing members will remember the events with nostalgia. SKA LONDON is a fully independent group founded in 1979 and is not associated with any other group for the purpose of the forthcoming Nativity celebrations. Any misleading invitations you receive from any other group whhich implies that SKA is any way associated or involved in their Nativity celebrations are inaccurate. There is only one SKA  and only one Nativity celebration. Please continue your support to SKA.

As this is a free event invitations have been sent to members in order to get an idea of the numbers to expect for catering purpose.  If you have not responded to the invitation from the Secretary please do so asap. SKA LONDON welcomes donations of any size, discrete or publicized to continue with the Feast of Nativity.

SKA London organised another picnic to Ruislip Lido on Sunday, 21 August 2016. The group met at an appointed point near the LIDO at 11 am onwards, using their own transport. They had wonderful time playing games and sharing food and drinks. There were activities for adults and children too.

On Sunday the10th of July 2016 SKA organised a picnic to Bournemouth. The group departed at 8.30 am with  155 people in 2 coaches. A traditional Indian breakfast with vada and chatni along followed by tea and coffee started everyone with full of energy for the rest of the day. The journey itself was enjoyable and the group took part in playing antaskshri, dancing, cracking jokes and other fun activities in the coach.
