LONDON

38TH YEAR OF SKA

STILL GOING STRONG

This year, all the core committee members have put our efforts to take SKA to another level not only by organising outstanding events, also by embracing Konkan people from all over the United Kingdom. This has increased our membership numbers much more than last year. I hope we can expand more and strengthen our community spirit. As with every year £200 from the profits has been donated to St. Joseph, Prashanth Nivas which is an orphanage based in Mangalore in India.

CHRISTMAS DINNER & DANCE

11TH DECEMBER 2016

This event was enjoyed by over 250 guests. This was the very first event conducted by Mr Sunil D’Cunha after taking the post of SKA President. The committee have done themselves proud by organising such a slick programme which went smoothly and was truly enjoyable.

VALENTINE’S DINNER & DANCE

This was an additional event conducted purely on the request from the members. We had a good response and excellent feedback from all the couples and members who attended the function. The evening was full of Dance and music, no wonder it was a Happy Valentine’s Day!

PICNIC 1-NORTHALA FIELDS

02ND JULY 2017

This year the venue of the free annual picnic was changed from Ruislip Lido to Northala fields (Northolt) in accordance with members’ wishes for a more central location. It was a beautiful and sunny day, and all the members had an awesome time.

PICNIC 2-EASTBOURNE

20TH AUGUST 2017

For the second outing, we hired two coaches (one double decker and one single decker) for 180 members and friends who were eagerly waiting to enjoy the sun alongside the sea. It was an unusual picnic as everyone got to watch the most beautiful Eastbourne Airshow at the pebble beach.
