SKALONDON 2017 NATIVITY

Monthi Festh 2017
South Kanara Association London

As in previous years since 1998, South Kanara Association London,  celebrated the feast of Nativity of mother Mary on 10th September 2017 at All Saints Church Queensbury, with lot of Devotion and Enthusiasm from the Mangalore Community. An unexpected congregation of 350 Mangloreans was really a surprise to be proud of.

The celebrations started with a procession to adore Our Llady, with offering of flowers by our little children and blessing of the corn as a symbol of new harvest.

Fr Deep Francis Fernandes and Fr Charles Menezes all the way from Spain and Paris officiated the holy Eucharistic Grand Mass, accompanied by our very own choir made the mass a resounding celebration.

After the mass, delicious Manglorean 7-dish vegetarian lunch and traditional vorn was served.  This was followed by stage entertainment by the members of the association.

The welcome dance was perfomed by Matilda Dcosta, solo singing by Baby Riyana Almeida, Gleston Mendonca, Sujith Rodrigues and Rachel Rodrigues, The ladies danced to the tunes of Konkani and tulu songs, Ms Joaanne , Mr Donald d’souza and Archana Menezes danced for a Bollywood number,

Vote of thanks was delivered by our Presdent Mr Sunil D’Cunha, a comedy skit performed by Mr Donald Dsouza , Mrs Gracy Fernandes and Ms Friva Monteiro and the unique Master of ceremony was done by our little champs Sampson Dcunha, Ethan Lobo and Lester Lobo. The vegetable auction was conducted by Mr Prakash Tauro and was bagged by Mrs Sheela Adams Saldanha. The programme was concluded with Live Baila specially sung by the SKA Group.

A heartfelt thanks to all the sponsors and the members who prepared the delicious meal. We appreciate the support from all our guests and the words of appreciations received over emails, phone calls and messages.
